"Kelly has many gifts as a writer. He has the ability to create exceptionally attractive and effective publications. For example, Kelly has a clear, readable and engaging writing style, but also a rare intellectual capacity to distill complex academic topics so that they appeal to both non-specialist, general audiences as well as faculty members who are steeped in a topic or particular field of study. We often received compliments, even from difficult-to-please faculty, on newsletter articles that Kelly had written about their work.
In addition to his skills as a writer, Kelly spearheaded the redesign of our newsletter, our annual report, and Web site, all of which were greatly improved by his management. Kelly has very strong technical abilities and can easily design printed pieces using desktop publishing software, create Podcasts and videos, and design for the Web. In his work he demonstrated that he collaborates effectively with others, as in his work with designers on the appropriate creative direction for communications pieces.
